About the position
We need a Web Designer to join our team of talented people. As a real self-starter and a keen all-rounder you will be expected to work either as part of a larger team on major projects, or on smaller projects where you may be given the opportunity to take design ownership working alongside the rest of our creative and talented team.
You’ll need to have experience in designing & building commercial websites, enthusiasm and an aptitude for learning more.
We are not expecting you to be at the top of your game just yet – perhaps with our help you’ll get there in a year’s time! – but you’ll have enough experience and be keen enough to be passionate about getting there.
Maybe you feel like you’ve been a freelancing a for a while and you want a great team to bounce ideas off, or you feel like a cog in an agency machine, not really being stretched and are looking to jump to an agile company in a great location?
Interestingly enough, we try to only take on designers with not only a passion for design, UI and web technologies, but with a keen appreciation for account management too.

Responsibilities
You’ll be integral in both the creation of new client design projects, dealing with the client and ensuring their dreams are turned into reality.
On a daily basis
- You’ll design and implement websites based using the latest design trends, techniques and technologies .
- Front-end web development; client project builds using Javascript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS and related technologies.
- The extension and maintenance and upkeep of our client websites to ensure their smooth running.
- Client account management, looking after our website clients old and new.
In a fast, clean and efficient manner, you’ll be strongly proficient in:
- Cross browser fixes
- Javascript (pure and jQuery)
- CSS (Less, SASS)
- Communicating ideas and design both visually,on the phone and in meetings.
You’ll gain extra brownie points for:
- Knowing your way around the usual IDEs, Git and perhaps some Shell commands
Being creatively minded..
- Having produced timelines and project plans
- Ongoing goals
- Keeping abreast of the latest XHTML/CSS/WAI standards and Web 2.0 developments on the front-end side of things.
Increasing your knowledge of design and also to learn further from our team how to take on a project from the initial enquiry, first meeting with the client through wire-framing and onto design and build and beyond, on-time and on budget!
Package
We take good care of our staff, and salary expectations are based upon experience and are also performance related.
Basically; you’ll get paid money (£££ dependant on experience), flexible holiday allowance, and be able to work in a nice place with great people and plenty of scope to be as creative as you wish.
