Google+, Google’s social network and core to Google’s strategy as the glue that holds its suite of products together, traffic levels grew by 43% in June reaching nearly 32 million unique visitors in the US, in a report from Compete shows.
We’ve been watching G+ gain momentum for some time now, fuelled we think by the buzz around the recent Google IO development conference and the introduction of great looking mobile apps on both Android and Apple platforms has certainly made a difference.
How do the social networks compare?
These are the social network numbers (in million visitors) for June, including the percentage change compared to May.
Facebook 158.6 (+1,0%)
YouTube 153.8 (+0,75%)
Twitter 42.6 (+0,9%)
Google+ 31.9 (+43,1%)
Linkedin 24.6 (-6,5%)
MySpace 21.9 (-8,0%)
Tumblr 21.6 (+0,1%)
Pinterest 19.4 (+0,4%)
Whilst not in the league of Facebook, the big jump in traffic levels and the recent changes to Google Places with it becoming Google+ local, makes G+ a place to stake your business page claim now.
