We are a team of talented software developers, designers and digital marketers who work with clients across the UK and Europe to help them take their businesses to the next level.

Our aim is to create smart, innovative technical solutions to the challenges that our clients’ face. This could be building a new ecommerce site, mobile application or a bespoke development to meet a very specific need, such as improving internal processes.

We take a proactive approach to all our projects, advising clients of new opportunities, services, best practice or technologies that will enhance their solution in the short and long term.

We work with clients in a wide range of B2B and B2C sectors, including Finance, Food, Retail, Engineering, Luxury Goods and Travel.

We can also provide on-going support and digital marketing consultancy to help get the best results from the project once it is live

We are based in Suffolk, UK. Our offices are just 90 minutes away from London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport.


Andy Merrill

Andy Merrill

Managing Director

Andy and Karen Merrill set up V4 Technical Ltd in 2004 with the goal of providing high quality, software and process solutions to clients across a broad range of sectors.

Andy is the technical lead at the company. His focus is on delivering brilliant software strategy, architecture and builds on every project. He enjoys a hands-on approach working closely with our development and design teams and our clients.

He has a background in engineering, electronics, process improvement through software and IT, with over 25 years of software development experience across many platforms.

At GE Transportation, where he was a management team member, in his role as European IT leader he led the integration of the company’s European sites, introducing VPN and Exchange solution. He was also a Six Sigma Black Belt for UK operation, led process improvement and mentored Green Belts.

His expertise includes: Web application design & development, database design, process improvement, process mapping & Six Sigma.

Andy’s mantra is “to learn something new everyday”. When he’s not working he has a passion for music, retro gaming, photography and movies.


Katherine Riddell

Katherine Riddell

Commercial Director

Katherine is key to the company’s business, financial and client management approach. Her focus is on ensuring that all projects are delivered on brief, on budget and on time.

Katherine built her career as a media planner within some of the UK’s largest agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, WWAV, Carat and Mediacom. In 1999, she founded digital direct marketing agency Cheeze Ltd with partner Jamie Riddell. As MD, she grew the company’s annual turnover to £12 million before selling it to DMG plc in 2007. She was then a director on the Operations Board, which oversaw the strategic management of the DMG Group companies.

Her client experience includes BUPA, Unilever, Hiscox Insurance, The Holiday Cottages Group, Monarch Airlines, The National Trust, C&A, Best Western Hotels.

Expertise: Business Consultancy, Business Finance, Digital Marketing, Media Planning.

When she’s not talking to clients or looking at the numbers, Katherine is a part time shepherdess, smallholder and slow foodie.


Jamie Riddell

Jamie Riddell

Innovation Director

Jamie Riddell is one of the UK’s most experienced, respected and successful experts in Digital Marketing. Since 1996, Jamie has been at the forefront of digital marketing in the UK working to grow some of the first agency departments for Internet marketing at Mediacom, Grey and EHS.

Between 1999 and 2009, Jamie was the co-founder and Director of Innovation at agency Cheeze working with a wide range of travel clients on PPC, SEO, CRM and Social Media.

His travel client experience includes work with RCI (Cottages 4 You, Welcome Cottages, Blakes Boats), Holiday Extras, Columbus Direct Travel Insurance, Dragoman and Imaginative Traveller.

Specifically for SEO (as part of the wider marketing mix) Jamie created and managed profitable programs for Monarch Airlines, Lunn Poly, Thomson, Canvas Holidays and Skydeals.

Jamie is a Director of V4 Technical and CEO of ‘DTT’ and continues to consult with brands on successful digital marketing strategies. Relevant client experience includes Social Media consultancy for Dragoman and Imaginative Traveller, and Digital Marketing review for Forest Holidays.

When he’s not working on the next big thing, Jamie enjoys music, film and walking his three dogs.
