Open Positions

Finance Controller (part time)

The role

V4 Technical are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to develop and run their accounts. Initially this will be a part time role (12 hours a week) but there may be an opportunity for an increase in hours as the business grows.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining robust accounting processes, procedures and controls
  • Running the Sales and Purchase Ledgers
  • Preparing and dispatching client invoices
  • Processing the monthly pay role
  • Processing and paying employee expenses
  • Preparing P11Ds
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparing the year end processes and reports
  • Liasing with the company’s accountants, when required
  • Chasing clients for payment of invoices
  • Updating business plans for the board
  • Setting up a stakeholder company pension scheme
  • Working with the board to develop KPIs and produce analysis to help drive and improve business performance
  • Preparation of reports for board meetings
  • Moving the company’s accounts from Freeagent to Sage in 2015.

You will report to the Commercial Director but will also work closely with the Managing Director

As an important member of a small team, your day to day duties will require an approach that is both flexible and efficient. You will be expected to handle all accounts matters with a high level of professionalism and discretion. You will also be expected to build good working relationships with our clients’ accounts personnel

Requirements for the role

You will have a proven track record in a similar role, preferably in the private sector. You will be a qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA with at least five years experience. You will have the ability to work autonomously and also at a senior level. You must have a “hand-on” approach coupled with the ability to critically appraise procedures and processes identifying areas for improvement. You will also posses the drive and motivation to develop the role, taking on new responsibilities and challenges

Experience of SAGE is essential.

A knowledge of Freeagent would be useful but it is not vital to this role

Other details

The role is based in our offices at Deben Mill Business Centre, Woodbridge

Working hours would be 12 hours a week. For example, this could be four hours a day for three days each week.  The allocation of the hours to be agreed with the board of directors. Holidays would be pro-rata to 20 days a year, plus bank holidays.
