The company is positioning itself to take advantage of cloud based, API driven technologies for its clients in addition to strengthening it’s core design and development teams.

The company is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

The role

Want to develop your design & build skills in a fast paced and friendly company?

We are looking for someone who has demonstrable expertise in designing and building websites. This could be for your self or freelance work. You will be passionate about emerging trends in web design and be keen to research and learn new skills. You will work alongside more experienced team members on a varied range of projects and will be given lots of support. You will be encouraged to take responsibility for your contribution to projects and to meet deadlines with work that is on brief and within budget. You will also have the opportunity to talk to clients directly and take a role in client meetings. 

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for: 

• Designing and building small websites or components for larger web applications
• Designing ecommerce sites to hand over to developers
• Undertaking frontend web development, client project builds using Javascript, AJAX, HTML, CSS and related technologies
• The extension, maintenance and upkeep of some of our current websites
• Keeping the team abreast of the latest HTML/CSS/WAI standards developments
• Working closely with our web developers on common projects
• Helping more senior team members with their work
• Taking client phone calls for other team members when they are busy
• Taking an active role in team and client meetings

This is a practical role with plenty of scope to develop your technical skills within the emerging technologies. 

The requirements for the role

You will be a keen self starter in designing and building commercial sites In a fast, clean and efficient manner you will be strongly proficient in:

• HTML5 & CSS3
• CMS s such as WordPress and Drupal
• Photoshop and related design tools
• Providing developers with workable assets from your designs
• Working with Javascript and other related libraries such as jQuery.
• Understanding site usability
• Colour theory

Experience in the following areas would also be valuable:

• A basic knowledge of PHP
• Knowledge of templating languages such as Twig
• Cross browser fixes
• Revision control systems such as SVN and Git
• Good written English
• Excellent attention to detail
• BA in Arts or Design would be valuable but is not essential

You will be able to demonstrate a real passion for design, with a portfolio of your own work to show us, whilst also being keen to learn more.  Getting the job done will be important to you.

The role is based in our offices in Woodbridge

Working hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday but may extend beyond these hours if required to meet project deadlines.

Salary: £13-15k Commensurate with experience
