Founded in 2004, V4 Technical Ltd offers elegant software solutions to a diverse client portfolio including retail, finance, food, charities and events. The company designs and develops web & mobile applications, e commerce websites and social media tools.

The company is positioning itself to take advantage of cloud based, API driven technologies for its clients in addition to strengthening it’s core design and development teams.

The company is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk.

The role

We are looking for a talented and creative developer who has the drive and experience to lead a key project within the company. Working directly to the Managing Director you will be expected to take a proactive hands-on approach to expanding the capabilities of an exciting social media analytics platform with a global customer base. You will also have day-to-day contact with the client and will liaise with the social networks when needed.

As the customer base for the project is international you will be expected to work outside of the usual 9.00am-5.30pm working hours as and when required.

We are would like you to take the lead on:

• The preparation of tech plans and scopes of work for the project
• Developing API integration, cloud storage/processing and Big Data
• Managing backend web development, creating dynamic content that interacts with MySQL databases, using via PHP to sit with your frontend development.
• Managing frontend web development, client project builds using Javascript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS and related technologies
• Overseeing the extension, maintenance and upkeep of the existing project framework
• Keeping the team abreast of the latest XHTML/CSS/WAI standards and MySQL/PHP developments
• Working closely with our web designers on this and other common projects
• Training other team members
• Running team meetings
• Taking an active role in client meetings
• Working on other projects when required

This is a practical role with plenty of scope to develop your technical skills within the emerging technologies.

The requirements for the role

You will be a master in building commercial web applications and technologies including:

• Application Design
• PHP 5+
• MySQL & other engines database design, maintenance and optimisation
• API integration – including oauth, social media and other services
• jQuery and other client side libraries.
• MVC frameworks (Kohana, Cake, Codeigniter)
• Handcoding Javascript.

Proven experience in the following areas would also be valuable:

• Information architecture
• Cross browser interface design and testing
• XMl+XSLT
• Amazon Web Services and PAAS integration and deployment
• Change control, testing and development process management
• Linux server management.

You will be able to demonstrate a real passion for code and new technologies. You will also have experience of working closely with designers to create strong and intuitive web solutions. Delivering the project on specification and on time will be important to you.

The role is based in our offices in Woodbridge

Working hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday but may extend beyond these hours if required to meet project deadlines.

Salary: up to £45,000 but commensurate with experience
